Daddy Diapering Discussion!

This is my hubby, Brian. We've been married 3.5 years and he's pretty awesome if I must say so myself. I approached him about cloth diapering when Noah was about 6 months old. He was pretty open to the idea once I told him it would save us money. He did say he wasn't going to change any diapers though! I kind of just took over  from there. Now, 3 years later he is completely on board with cloth diapering and even changes diapers!! I realized recently, I never really asked him what his thoughts truly were on cloth, so I decided to interview him!

Here's a daddy's perspective on cloth diapers!

What were your thoughts when I first brought up cloth diapers to you?
I didn’t know anything about them. I thought they were the nasty rags with pins that they used to use.

What convinced you to give them a try?
Saving money and you showing me how they worked and how they looked.

How do you like cloth diapers now?
I like them much better than disposables. They don’t smell as bad, they save us money, and they are better than having a trash can full of diapers that aren’t good for the earth.

Do you know how to wash the diapers?
Nope..I leave that to you.

Has anyone ever given you a hard time for using cloth diapers? No. Some of my friends have seemed kind of surprised that we do it but mostly because they didn't know how different they are now than they used to be.

What would you say is the hardest part of cloth diapering?
Rinsing out the poopy diapers

What advice would you give to other families or dads who are interested in cloth diapering?
Just give it a try and be open-minded. Start off with just a couple and see how you like them first.

Would you recommend cloth diapers to a friend who was about to be a first time dad? Yes definitely!

So there you go! Even dad's love cloth diapers!

Does your significant other love cloth diapers as much as you do?

Babywearing: My New Favorite Hobby!

When Noah was a baby I didn't know much about babywearing. I purchased a Baby K'Tan when he was about 3 months old, but didn't wear him often at all. I didn't use it as a helpful tool very often and Noah was such an independent, busy baby that he didn't care to be worn very often.

When I got pregnant with Isaac I knew I wanted to give babywearing another try. I knew it would be helpful to be able to wear Isaac so I could have two free hands for Noah. I still had my Baby K'tan and I got a ring sling and a Beco to review here on the blog to try. And the addiction began!

The Baby K'Tan and Ring Sling were my favorite when Isaac was a newborn. I would stick him in one of these and wear him in the grocery story, at church, and around the house! I loved how easy it was to get him in and out of both the K'Tan and the ring sling.

I also had the Beco Butterfly 2, and as soon as Isaac reached the weight limit I gave it a try! I really like my Beco and still use it to this day! I love that I can carry him on my front and my back and I love that I can wear him in it until he is a toddler. It's comfortable and super easy to use!

My latest addition to the collection is a woven wrap. Even when I started babywearing I never thought I would be a wrap girl. It looked so difficult! I've only had for a few weeks and it definitely does take some practice but I'm starting to get it! I wanted something that was a little cooler for these hot summer days and our trips to the beach. So far it does feel a little cooler and I'm really liking it!

I just love babywearing so much now! It's convenient, it makes life easier, and it's fun! Isaac can be fussy and unhappy and all I have to do is stick him in the wrap or carrier and he's content again! I wish I could try every baby carrier out there!

What's your favorite baby carrier? Do you have one you're dying to try?

ShopBedding.com Review!

Planning a move? Got a kiddo going off to college? Just want some new, quality bed sheets at a great price? ShopBedding.com has all your bedding needs at a great price! I was given the opportunity to review a satin fitted sheet from Shopbedding.com and I am so excited to tell you about it!

ShopBedding.com specializes in quality products with only the finest quality textiles and linens. They offer a huge variety of colors, and prints. Instead of having to buy a whole bed set you can buy individual items like a fitted sheet or bed skirt! And they offer all of this at reasonable, affordable prices!

I reviewed a satin fitted sheet for our queen bed in the color champagne. It looks just like the picture above! The satin sheets are made of 100% polyester satin and are so soft and smooth! I have really enjoyed these sheets especially on these hot summer nights. They work great at keeping me cool! As soon as I lie down in bed I'm ready to just fall asleep because I'm so comfortable! I really want a set of these for our guest bed so when we have guests they can be just as comfortable!

I really love that you can order separates at Shopbedding.com! I don't think I'm the only one who's had a sheet get a hole or stain in it. With Shopbedding.com I can just replace the one sheet that's messed up instead of buying an entire new set! And with all the colors they have to choose from, even if you didn't purchase your original sheets there, you are very likely to find the same color! I also LOVE the prices! These are super affordable prices for everything they sell! Plus you get free shipping on orders over $75!

GoGreen For Baby Giveaway!

Welcome to our GoGreen for Baby Event!

Up for grabs is a great package deal from GoGreen Pocket Diapers in celebration of the release for the new
Champ 3.0 Pocket Diapers

While the new Champ 3.0 looks like their current 2.0 diapers, most of the updated work is on the inside!

GoGreen Diapers has added a second layer of PUL to help with durability as well as the life span of the diaper. The leg Gussets have also been improved and by the picture, they look huge which is great to contain messes!

I think adding a better snap in insert was a great option as well! While GoGreen Champs are supposed to stay attached while in the wash, my inserts would occasionally come unsnapped.

They have also widened the back opening to help the insert come out easier in the wash and the bigger front opening means easier and quicker stuffing!

Because the GoGreen champ diapers come with the snap in insert, you can use them as their normal pocket diaper, or as an All In 2 diaper. This is a great alternative when traveling, or out for long periods of time. You could also put one insert on top and one in the pocket for extra protection for those heavy wetters, especially at night!

The Adapt-A-Snaps are sold exclusively by GoGreen.

Not everyone is a fan of snaps and GoGreen was smart enough to make this conversion kit so your snap diapers could become velcro! The velcro is very durable and easily snaps on the diaper.

I've heard that the Adapt-A-Snaps can work with some other diapers they were made specifically for Champ diapers from GoGreen Pocket Diapers.
