My favortie family tradition with my family (there are 9 children + inlaws + nieces and nephews) is to just be together the day of and open presents together. It's crazy, but quite an experience, every year!
ReplyDeleteour holiday traditions are baking sugar cookies together on Christmas eve, eating homemade christmas bread on Christmas morning while we open gifts and then heading out for a hike in the afternoon on Christmas day.

ReplyDeletewe have a tradition where whomever says 'christmas eve gift' first to another family member gets that person's christmas eve gift.. theoretically!! :D we never have really cashed in on it, we just have fun seeing who can get who's christmas eve gift first!!

We're in Indonesia, we had a tradition of doing a nativity play on the street, yes, along with a real life mule for Maria to sit on. Kids are always fascinated by the mule. Maria will then have her baby on our church, and continue the rest of the scene there.

ReplyDeleteEvery year on Christmas eve we leave out cookies and milk but we also put our very special Santa Key on the door outside. Its a magic key that only Santa can use to get in because we dont have a chimney :D
