Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stay-At-Home Moms {Book Review!}

Chicken Soup for the Soul books have always been in my life and have been so inspiring to me. I read "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul" and discovered that other teens were going through some of the same things I was going through. Now that I am older and going through different things in life, that book doesn't apply to me so much. So when I recieved "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stay-At-Home Moms" I was so excited because this is exactly where I am at in my life right now!

"Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stay-At-Home Moms" has SO many stories that I can relate to as a Stay-At-Home Mom! There are stories about making the decision to become a stay-at-home mom, coping with the long nights and busy days, and even stories from the spouses of stay-at-home moms! The stories are written by real stay-at-home moms who have dealt with the same things that I have dealt with! Things like making mommy friends, staying in your pjs all day because you haven't even had time to get dressed all day, and making time for yourself! I started this book thinking I'd just read through a few stories for a few minutes and read some more later and then couldn't put it down! Just about every story I could relate to in some way! This is one of those books that when you are having an awful day and want to just throw yourself a pity party, you can pick it up and read some stories and remember that you are not alone and that you are not the only one who has had the same kind of day as a stay-at-home mom.

If you are a stay-at-home mom or know a mom who stays at home or who is planning to this book is so inspiring and great to read! It's so easy to relate to the stories and would make the perfect gift for any stay-at-home mom!

Summer Blog Challenge Day 10! {Art!}

Today the topic is: Cost aside, name a famous art piece you would have in your home.

To be quite honest, I'm not really in to art at all. I couldn't even tell you a famous piece of art I love. Kinda sad, I know. But I am much happier with photographs in my home. If you ask anyone who knows me and has been to my home, photographs are all over my home. I love displaying pictures of my family and babies in my home! To me they are worth more than any piece of art!

Summer Blog Challenge Day 9! {Worst Cooking Disaster!}

For the challenge today we have to write about our worst cooking disaster!! I'm not a great chef at all but I do pretty well most of the time. I can only think of 2 disasters that I remember in the kitchen!

When I was a teenager I was making chocolate chip cookies and used salt instead of sugar!! Those were some yucky cookies!

Then, just recently I made chili in the crockpot...which is something I do often. But this time it did not turn out right at all! I still don't even know what I did wrong. My husband said it tasted sour and wouldn't eat it and to me it just tasted like pure tomatoes! It was gross! I used plenty of chili powder and had all the same ingredients that I usually do, but it was just disgusting! I don't think I've made chili since haha!

Summer Blog Challenge Day 8! {Guilty Pleasure!}

Today for the challenge we have to talk about our favorite guilty pleasure and it can NOT include blogging (does that also include entering blog giveaways?!)!

Since it can't include blogging I'd say my guilty pleasure would probably be reading! I love to take a hot bath and read a good book with nobody bothering me! I don't get to read as much as I used to now that I have two kids but when I get the chance I love to get deep into a great book!

Another guilty pleasure I love is going to get a pedicure! I don't need a massage, just hook me up with a good spa pedicure and I'm in heaven!! It's another thing I don't get to do much anymore, but when I do it's so nice!!

Summer Blog Challenge Day 6! {Nicknames!}

Today for the Summer Blog Challenge we are talking about our nicknames and why we have them! I only have 2 nicknames and one I have had my entire life! My family(grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) call me Mickey. I asked my mom once why they called me that and she said it's because my name was french and they wanted me to have an Irish name. So they started calling me Mickey. To this day my grandparents still call me Mickey.

My other nickname was given to me by my college roommate. She calls me Shell-O. I guess because my maiden name is Michelle O'Donnell. She still calls me Shell-O to this day. :)
