OOPSIE!

I must already have preggo brain because I forgot to post a recipe for Fun With Food Friday today! And now at 5:30pm I remember! Geez!

BUT

I have to admit..I haven't cooked in two weeks. Morning sickness and handling raw meat or anything raw or squishy or smelly for that matter, do not go well. We've been eating out LOTS and lots of frozen meals. So I don't really have a recipe I've actually reviewed anyways. BOO! So sorry ya'll! Maybe in a few weeks I can actually attempt to cook again. But until then you'll probably be getting recipes from my little 3 ring binder full of recipes we eat all the time! Hope thats ok! :(

To actually get an awesome recipe, please check out Mama Chocolate! She posted an awesome chicken noodle soup recipe that I definitely want to try when I can cook again!!

My Thoughts on TLC's New Series "Extreme Couponing"

So last night I was so excited to watch the new episodes of Extreme Couponing! On the very first hour long episode Mr.Coupon inspired me so much! He was smart with his shopping and he even donated items he got for free to the needy in his community! I thought he was so cool! So when I learned of the new series I was super excited to find more inspiration!

And while they do inspire me to get amazing deals and get tons of groceries for super cheap, I do have my reservations. For one, I get the stockpile thing, I do. I would even like to start my own stockpile and plan on doing so very soon. But when you have to bring your stockpile into your home (under your kids bed, in your own bedroom, in every closet and cabinet) I think thats a bit much. The whole point of a stockpile is so that you can go without buying certain items for a certain period of time. So when you already have 100 rolls of paper towels...don't go buying 100 more. Especially when it is overflowing your home! The one lady even said it herself; she felt like the walls were closing in on her...because her whole house was one big stockpile! Mr. Coupon did it right in my opinion. He was able to get 1000 packages of toilet paper for free so he hasn't bought toilet paper in over 3 years! I think creating a stockpile can be a great thing, if used properly. When you have enough of something to where you don't have to buy that item for at least a year...don't buy it for at least a year!! Just sayin'.

Another thing that got me was buying products they didn't really need or use just because it was on sale....aka the mustard. The woman bought like 56 bottles of mustard and her husband is standing there saying "we don't even really eat mustard". I use coupons for items we use or will use. I don't get something..even if its free...just because its free! For example there has been many a time I could get Old Spice body wash or deodorant for free or under $1 but my husband doesn't like Old Spice..so I didn't get it. Now I can understand donating it to others if its free or something AND if you have lots of coupons so you can buy lots to donate. But to buy it just cuz its cheap even if you aren't going to use it is stupid in my opinion.

Now don't get me wrong..the ladies on the show were inspiring! They save TONS of money each year. I would LOVE to go to the store..buy $600 worth of groceries and only pay $6 for them! That would be amazing! I just think some of their habits are a little pointless and a bit much. I guess that's why they call it EXTREME couponing.
