Veggie Tales "The League of Incredible Vegetables" DVD Review & Giveaway! {US Only}

My son loves super hero's! Any and all super hero's he finds amazing! So when I showed him the Veggie Tales "The League of Incredible Vegetables" he was so excited to see vegetables that were super hero's!! 

Here's a brief synopsis of the movie: 

"It was a bright and sunny day in Bumblyburg...until Dr. Flurry came to town.  This chillin' villain wants to freeze the whole city...in fear!   It's a job to big for LarryBoy alone, so he turns to the "The League of Incredible Vegetables" to help save the town from Dr. Flurry's icy grip!  When it seems like they're all moments from the deep freeze, will the League remember to turn to One who is bigger than all our fears?  Includes a brand new theme song and music video from Grammy-nominated and Dove Award winning group, The Newsboys!"

This movie is packed full of fun! It has all the awesome vegetables of Veggies Tales, including a favorite of my son's, Larry Boy! As in all the Veggie Tales movies, there are some important messages in the story line.  This story teaches a lesson in handling fear, being brave, and trusting God. Through the songs and story line kids learn with God's help they can be brave and conquer anything!

Everyone in my family really enjoyed this movie! The super hero vegetables are awesome, the story line is great, and the music is fun and catchy!

Ten Things I Have to Be Thankful For In 2012

November is a big time of year where we remember all that we are thankful for. On Facebook I've been posting one thing I'm thankful for daily this month. This got me thinking, I have a lot to be thankful for that has happened just in this year! 

1.  Both of my boys have grown so much and are healthy and happy! 

2. My husband got a promotion at work this year! 

3. My sister got in to veterinarian school and is now living with us. I am thankful for this because she is super helpful with the boys when I need it! ;) 

4. I have a roof over my head, and not only that but it is a wonderful place for making memories! 

5. My baby boy is almost a year old(in less than 2 weeks!) and I have been able to nurse him since he was born! And we are still going strong! 

6.As always, I am thankful for my wonderful family. My husband puts up with me lovingly and patiently and is an amazing father! My parents and in-laws are wonderful and such great grandparents to my boys! 

7. We've had good weather this year. No major storms. It wasn't the hottest summer ever, and the winter so far has been decent. 

8. I'm always thankful that my husband works so hard so I can stay home with the boys. 

9. My blog has been very successful this year! I so enjoy working on it and writing and reading other blogs and getting to know other people through blogging! 

10. I am so thankful for God's love, my life he has blessed me with, and the amazing year my family and I have had!

We all know good hand washing and covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough is a great way to prevent germs from spreading. It's not super strong but leaves a light floral scent when you wash your hands. It's nice to know I'm not putting any crazy chemicals on my hands when I'm washing them. 

The disinfecting wipes are made from all-natural ingredients that kill 99.9% of household germs. They are even effective against the cold and flu viruses! They can be used on nearly any surface in your home and no rinsing is required! It cleans and disinfects all in one easy step! I LOVE using disinfecting wipes! They are so easy and work great! I use them on nearly everything. Seventh Generation's disinfecting wipes are lemongrass citrus scented, which I'm not a super huge fan of, but it's not super strong so it doesn't bother me. I also prefer the natural ingredients in these wipes over other brands so the smell isn't such a big deal. 

The Seventh Generation facial tissues are made from 100% recycled paper and are whitened without products containing chlorine. We received a few 175-ct boxes of 2 ply tissues and use them daily. They are soft and gentle and work great for wiping little noses. I love knowing that I am wiping my baby's face with something safe and gentle. And when you are done you can recycle the boxes! These Seventh Generation products make it just a little bit easier for me to keep my kiddos healthy. I love that they are natural and safe yet disinfect and keep germs at bay!

Fall 2012 Cloth Diaper Drive! #LoveAppalachia

Welcome to the Fall 2012 Cloth Diaper Drive Giveaway & Fundraising Event hosted by Leettle Baby! I am really excited to participating in such a great cause! The people of Appalachia really touch my heart and I want to help in any way I can! 

Last spring, with your help, we were able to send 30 diaper covers and 30 cotton prefolds to the DFW Cloth Diaper Project.
This time around we would love to make an even greater impact. For this event, we would love help the Tomahawk Sustainment Mission in their efforts to expand their cause to begin a cloth diapering program that will benefit the people living in the poverty-stricken Appalachia region of Kentucky. The founder, Terri, has estimated that there were 500 children that could benefit from this program.

DID YOU KNOW? The Appalachia region covers 13 different U.S. states, encompasses 420 counties and includes 25 million people? Sadly, some of the most distressed areas have 150% poverty rate over the average U.S. rate.

Why Cloth Diapers?
As many of us parents know, diapering our children can cost us a fortune. According to the Real Diaper Association, using disposables costs a family about $66 dollars per month, and about $1,600 for the first two years. Now imagine if you had to decide if your family was going to eat or spend money on buying more diapers. Some families even have to re-use their babies DISPOSABLE diapers because they cannot afford to buy more. The wonderful thing about cloth diapers is that you do not have to worry about purchasing more diapers and you can always have clean ones readily available! With this diaper program, these families will not have to spend a penny on diapers for their children.
In addition, disposable diapers are not compostable and are estimated to take 250 - 500 years to break down! Now imagine if you did not have a trash service to remove those diapers (like some of those living in the Appalachia area)...where would they go? Cloth diapers provide a more sanitary option to the environment and reduce landfill waste.

Our Halloween Adventures!

I'm a little late on this, but I wanted to share with you some pictures from Halloween! Noah(3) has been asking about Halloween the whole month of October and was so excited when it was finally the day! Unfortunately, Isaac (11 months) has a double ear infection so we spent Halloween morning at the doctor's office and only went to one house with him before we came home and him and I handed out candy at home. But Noah and Daddy went all over town trick or treating! He wasn't shy at all and went right up to the door and was very polite also! He had a blast!
